How Patrons Can Access Digital Coupons from the Patron Login Portal

Requirements
Operators should implement Step 2 of the Website Tools Guide, which includes instructions for activating a patron login portal from your own website or landing page. You can pull the latest version of the Website Tools Guide from the Feature Dashboard by tapping the Action link next to Website Landing Pages under List Building section.

If you need assistance creating an online portal for loyalty/rewards/vip members, please contact Technical Support for assistance.

Instructions

Once Step 2 of the Website Tools Guide is completed you will be able to instruct your patrons to visit your website, where they can login to their rewards/ loyalty/ VIP account online.  The username can be either the patron’s card ID (if applicable), mobile phone number or email address. Every patron account has a password associated with it. This password is either defined by the patron during registration (signup) if Collect Password = Yes inside SETTINGS> Registration Settings OR a random password is created behind the scenes by the system.  In either case, patrons can retrieve their password by tapping the Lost Password link and following the prompts on screen. The system will then email or text the patron their patron portal login credentials.

Upon successful login, there is an Activity tab, which posts all loyalty activity on the individual patron’s account. This activity includes all stored value transactions such as gift card loads, reward redemptions, comp redemptions and day to day sales activity processed through a certified terminal.  The Activity tab also displays ALL guest WiFi connections and all non-kiosk generated digital coupons issued through any platform module. This includes digital coupons circulated through Automated Promotions (e.g., Happy Birthday, Thanks for Visiting, Happy Mother’s Day), scheduled email blasts and mobile text campaigns.  The digital coupon headline(s) (e.g., Buy 1 Get 1 Free, 25% Off Total Bill. Free Item Special) are hyperlinked inside this Activity tab as shown below.

Upon tapping the coupon headline (hyperlink), the patron will launch the digital coupon on their mobile device and can present it to the clerk or server for redemption.  The “Show & Save” process works exactly the same way as if the digital coupon was distributed inside an email or mobile text message.  There is no difference other than how the patron accesses their digital coupon.

When distributing redeemable deals, please remember to instruct your staff to always tap the Redeem button and confirm in order to mark the digital coupon “REDEEMED” on screen. Once redeemed, the same patron cannot present the same digital coupon a subsequent time without this REDEEMED screen displaying (fraud control).  In addition, tapping and confirming the Redeem button will help calculate accurate reporting statistics inside the REPORTING> Digital Coupon Activity Report.

How Patrons Can Access Digital Coupons from the Patron Login Portal

This article covers how patrons can access digital coupons issued direct from the patron login portal as opposed to waiting for messages to deliver via email or text. This situation is necessary when patrons claim they did not receive a specific email (or less commonly, mobile text messages), containing a digital coupon they wished to redeem.  There can be all kinds of reasons why a moblle text or email containing a digital coupon does not deliver to the SMS stream or inbox. Email marketing delivery and ISP spam filter policies, in particular, change constantly that can impact delivery.  We recommend patrons check all mail folders (including SPAM) and whitelisting the FROM email address of previous delivered messages. Sometimes, however, the message just doesn’t deliver for whatever reason, which causes upset patrons.  This article includes a work-around solution for this situation.
