Enabling Mobile Pinpad Entry through VeriFone Vx Series Terminals

  1. Power down terminal and connect a VeriFone 1000se PINPAD to the port at the back or underneath the terminal. On the Vx520 model, the pinpad plugs into the Rs232 port.
  2. From the loyalty program main menu, press the MORE purple button and select Setup Menu.
  3. Select TERMINAL and when prompted, enter default Manager Password of 92266831 and press Enter. If you already changed the default Manager password, then enter the new password value here instead of 92266831.
  4. Select NEXT until you see PINPAD TYPE. Click Edit and observe value. Set to 1 for the 1000SE pinpad model or set to 2 for the Vx680 smart pinpad model. Select Enter to save changes and press Next again.
  5. The next setup menu option is ENABLE PHONE ENTRY? Click EDIT and observe value. The value should be set to 1 to enable pinpad prompting for all transaction types or set to 0 to disable it. Press the desired value on the keypad and select ENTER to save changes.
  6. Exit back to the loyalty main menu and clerks will be presented with the option for patrons to enter their mobile number at the swipe card screen.

Enabling Mobile Pinpad Entry through VeriFone Vx Series Terminals

In lieu of swiping a card, merchants can connect an external VeriFone pinpad and prompt patrons to enter their mobile number directly through the pinpad in order to process a card-less transaction. This option works when the patronʼs mobile number is stored in the registration profile after activating their account. Please follow the steps below to enable a VeriFone terminal to accept mobile number entry from patrons through an external pinpad.

  1. Power down terminal and connect a VeriFone 1000se PINPAD to the port at the back or underneath the terminal. On the Vx520 model, the pinpad plugs into the Rs232 port.
  2. From the loyalty program main menu, press the MORE purple button and select Setup Menu.
  3. Select TERMINAL and when prompted, enter default Manager Password of 92266831 and press Enter. If you already changed the default Manager password, then enter the new password value here instead of 92266831.
  4. Select NEXT until you see PINPAD TYPE. Click Edit and observe value. Set to 1 for the 1000SE pinpad model or set to 2 for the Vx680 smart pinpad model. Select Enter to save changes and press Next again.
  5. The next setup menu option is ENABLE PHONE ENTRY? Click EDIT and observe value. The value should be set to 1 to enable pinpad prompting for all transaction types or set to 0 to disable it. Press the desired value on the keypad and select ENTER to save changes.
  6. Exit back to the loyalty main menu and clerks will be presented with the option for patrons to enter their mobile number at the swipe card screen.
