Understanding Void Credit Activity when Waitbusters OLO Payment Fails

Waitbusters Online Ordering (OLO) shows loyalty transaction IDs that start with an X. You may notice a transaction type and ID that looks like this displaying multiple times on your Reconciliation and/or Fraud Monitor Reports.

Transaction credit X22015185308918

These transactions credits (voids) occur when a customer uses a credit card during a Waitbusters Online Order (OLO) that fails. The system processes the loyalty transaction before billing other payment methods to ensue the rewards redemption is valid and the outstanding balance (if applicable) can be paid by credit card. In case of payment failure such as Insufficient Funds, the system rolls back the loyalty transaction and reports it as a transaction credit (void)to settle the customer’s rewards account and remove rewards that should not have been earned or redeemed. Although sometimes these voids can appear voluminously based on the customer’s success using a valid credit card this scenario is normal and should not be of concern.
