Adding POSitouch Discount Code for Waitbusters OLO Loyalty

For Waitbusters Online Ordering (OLO) to work with the Loyal Patron service in POSitouch via Omnivore, a discount code needs to be setup in the POS and enabled inside the Waitbusters back office.

From the location POS add a new discount code with the following parameters:

  • name = open discount or loyalty discount
  • open = true
  • applies to ticket
  • available = true
  • type = dollar

NOTE: To be able to run and view the discount/coupon through the Omnivore API to the POSitouch system the discount code needs to be configured with a cell type of 12.

Here are screen shots for how the page should look. When complete please message Waitbusters Technical Support to complete Loyal Patron integration.

Open Dollar

From the screen cell dialog, press the Lookup button, which will open the menu item edit dialog. From here you can look up an existing menu item or add a new one to the system. The menu item’s Price 1 should be 0.00

Press Save and then Select to return to the cell edit dialog. The discount Cell type should be “12-Discount” and the Open Dollar? Flag should be checked. A required multiplier modifier should be a cell type 3.

According to Omnivore Support, discounts in Positouch can be programmed one of two ways.

1) The native Positouch backoffice module. In Backoffice setup, there is a "Discounts and Surcharges" section that allows for creation of a discount there. The downside here is you are limited to only 15 discounts. OR

2) This way is creating a discount on the menu. In your menu editor, there is a "Discount" cell type that allows for creation of a discount on the menu. This allows essentially an unlimited amount of discounts since there is more space on the menu to create. Any parameters of discounts and tax implications would be best discussed with the POS support team to ensure the discount is programmed correctly for the business needs.
