Using MikroTik & OpenMesh Access Points in a Static IP Network

Please note network configuration at this level is not performed directly by Technical Support since the changes should be performed by a professional familiar with your network architecture.

When placing an OpenMesh or a configured MikroTik access point into an existing network using static IPs, the systems administrator for the venue will need to create a DHCP reservation in their routers DHCP lease pool so that a static IP address can be assigned to the access point.

It is possible to set the static IP on the WAN interface of the MikroTik using Winbox, but this step requires configuring the default gateway and DNS servers as well. It is recommended that this step only be performed by an IT professional.

You can access the MikroTik CAP Access Point through WinBox using credentials provided you by Technical Support and following the MikroTik configuration guide

NOTE: If you’re unable to access the  MikroTik via WinBox  please factory reset the device with the reset button on the back of the MikroTik cAP and run the configuration script directly.
