We've heard of this error coming from users with 1st generation Clover Minis where the Android OS version is too low to run our app. The only solution to this issue is replace the Clover device to a 2nd or later generation.
We have identified this error message when a box of card ID#s was assigned to the wrong merchant location in the system. The user was swiping a card followed by Register> Activate Instantly as a manual register through the Clover Virtual Terminal. The error resolved itself when the box of card ID#s was properly assigned to the correct merchant in the database.
