Go to SETTINGS> Users > User Edit for users with Administrator or Manager security clearance and scroll down to the field, Mgr/Clerk ID. Set a value for this field. If using a POS integrated system, choose your existing POS Clerk/Server ID for convenience. Repeat step for other authorized users, as applicable. If you receive an error message that the ID entered already exists, exit back to Home and go to SETTINGS> Clerk IDs. Locate the ID# you tried that returned a "Clerk ID already exists" error message and delete it from the SETTINGS> Clerk ID table. Then try again to add that exact Clerk ID to the appropriate user profile.
Enable Clerk IDs at the location level from SETTINGS> Locations> Location Edit by scrolling down to the field "Require Clerk ID from Terminal" and verify this box is checked. Repeat step for other locations, if applicable. See Enabling Clerk IDs for more detailed instructions.
Open SETTINGS> Locations> Location Edit and check the box "Require Manager/Admin Clerk ID for Load Value". Repeat step for other locations as applicable where this validation is necessary.
And that's it. Load Value transactions will require a Clerk ID from a user with either Manager or Administrator security clearance from your authorized SETTINGS> Users table.
For operators who want to disable one or more of the Load value screens from displaying on the terminal completely and hide from view, please see Enabling or Disabling Load Value Screens for instructions
(OPTIONAL) If the business location is really concerned about employee abuse of the load value transaction, an additional passcode prompt can be added to the VeriFone terminal to provide an extra layer of security above and beyond the manager/admin validation as described above. Follow instructions below for enabling this additional manager passcode prompt at the terminal level.
VeriFone Terminal VX Series: From the loyalty main menu, select first purple button underneath "MORE" and then select Setup Menu. Select Terminal and enter the default Manager Password of 92266831 and press Enter. Select the Next button until you see ENABLE MGR PASSWORD? screen. Select the Edit button and enter 1 (assuming 0 is displayed, which means the Manager Password prompt is disabled) and press Enter to save changes. A value of "1" means the Manager Password prompt is enabled while a value of "0" means the Manager Password prompt is disabled. Once set to "1" a new Manager Password prompt will appear whenever a Load Value transaction is attempted (Load Gift, Load Rewards or Load Units (Widgets) and prompt clerks to enter the password before being allowed to proceed to the Select Load Type screen. This password, if left unchanged, will be the same as the default password of 92266831 required to access the SETUP MENU. In order to change the default password, select Next once until you see MGR PASSWORD screen. Click Edit and set the password to any code the operator desires and then press Enter to save changes.
Overview Enabling Manager validation over Load Value transactions is very useful for helping to ensure that only authorized managers can process a more sensitive Load Value transaction (Load Gift, Load Reward, or Load Comp (Unit). This setting, once enabled, only permits Load Value transactions to process when the clerk ID entered by the operator is associated with a user profile (SETTINGS>Users) with either Manager or Administrator security clearance.
